9-11-01. who will ever forget those numbers? who will ever forget the t.v screen? who will ever forget the thoughts, who will ever forget the fear? i remember waking up much earlier then usual that day, usually i turn on the tv and go directly to espn. but something caught my eye. one of the wtc towers was on fire, approx. 25 stories it seemed. i like many others wondered, how, why, what, when?
as reporters and authorities were trying to answer this question, i flipped away, for what i do not remember, i came back to the first replays of the second plane hitting the second tower. wonderment became fear, worry, obsessive thoughts. i spent the next 3 hours, following the pentagon hit and the united flight 93 crash in a small field by a mine in shanksville pennsylvania. i remember not understanding, comprehending or trying to rationalize what my eyes were telling me. that was a day of horror and i still think about those images that still reside in my head, i saw the buildings crumble, i saw the agony and the tears, but i was not afraid i was filled with only anger. alot of heroes died that day and they will not be forgotten, but flight 93 went down only minutes from my father's house and i recently visited the site.
the crash site of flight 93 was very serene to me. alot of thoughts raced through my head, i stood there in reverence thinking many thoughts. the ignorant, brainwashed men who caused all this, the many heroes i.e todd beamer, and others who led that famous charge. i really want to be part of making sure something like this never happens again. i want to be part of the solution. a very tragic day it definetly was. im happy to respond to anyone wishing to discuss 9-11-01. it was a horrible day that history nor america shall soon forget.
