i never watch the news in the morning, or listen to the radio. september 11th, 2001 was no exception. september 11th was just another day to me. i got in the car, got driven to my high school and walked in the hallway. the first thing i noticed was the tv in the lobby was on, and everyone was crowded around tables. i couldn't see the tv so i just walked to 1st period; my english class. the tv was on in there too. i wondered, "what's going on" sitting down, i watched in horror as i saw the planes crash violently into the wtc towers. we talked about for a while, then moved on. it was the same in every class. at battle ground high school, we have the air force junior rotc(reserve officer training corps) program(which i am a part of) you could imagine the discussion we were having! |
