on a beautiful sept tuesday morning i was on my job working for the nyc dept of sanitation, me and my coworker was taking a truck to nj from nyc to be dumped around 8:30am, we got to the dumped unloaded no problem then on the way back to the highway 95north we notice a lot of people was pulling off to the shoulders of the highway talking on cell phones so i payed it no mind then as we got further on the highway we notice more people was pulling to the shoulders of the highway talking on their cell phones then i told my partner something is wrong here something must of happened too many people are pulling off the highway, we didnt have a clue that the most tragic thing ever had just taken place in the usa, so then the traffic came to a stand still i got out the truck to ask someone what was going on they told me that two planes hit the world trade center, i was thinking that two small planes had crash into each other near the world trade center so i wanted to ask some one else to make it clear to me of what had happened so i ask this tractor trailer driver he told me that two planes had hit the wtc towers and knocked them both to the ground, i was in shock and before i could digest what i just heard another car pulled up near me and told me that the pentegon was hit by a plane i said what the hell, then i knew for sure it was a terrorist attack on the usa big time, i went back to the truck and told my parnter he was in shock also, we was stuck in nj for about 5 hours they wouldnt let us cross the george washington bridge it was covered by the presents of police the city was on lock down the skys was on lock down i said oh lord this is really bad, i try to call my job on my cell but the cell was dead due to heavy traffic of callers of cause,it became a very very sad day that started out so nicely, i had went to a radio store and brought a walkman so i can hear the news, they was talking about that it was so many people in the wtc,i just put my head in my lap i felt real bad for them, i never experence anything in my life like this, i wasnt scared i was just in shock, finally they let us cross the bridge, when i got back to nyc it was a whole different place, people walking around lost some crying i felt real bad that day and lost,i still have that walkman i brought on 9/11 it will always be speical to me, i call it the 9/11 walkman, that was a day i will never never forget in my life god bless america
