when i came home from working a graveyard shift at about 630am colorado time i was about to fall asleep right after i turned on the t.v.. when i discovered an airliner had just slammed into one of the twin towers.at the time i thought it was an accident but i was still in shock from what i had seen.so i layed down in bed to watch the news and figure out what had just gone wrong, when out of the corner of the news camera another plane was heading for the second tower.i realized then that this was no accident this was terror on our own homeland.to make this short and to the point....seeing how everything unfolded after what happened, seeing the family's and childrens faces waiting for a relative, mom or dad to come home, just killed me inside and out.i felt every pain that every person had gone through that day and to this day.the tragedy has left a scar on me for the rest of my life.i never thought i would live to see something so horrible take place.yes it made us stronger, it made us more aware, and it brought us closer.but i have one thing to say that apply's to many of us......don't forget about what happened, because many have, and we are back to our same routines again like nothing ever happened.remember everyday that the people you walk by, and the people you talk to could have just as easily been on one of those planes.don't treat everyone you see day in and day out like they are less of a person than you are.because you know just as well as i do that, if that one person you may treat badly was on one of those planes or died of other causes, you would sob for them, and wish that you never did or said the things you did.just think about that for a minute.we are all a family here in the united states and we need to help one another in any way that we can.show someone you care, show someone what they mean in this world because one day we will all be gone.i am 20 years old, and i know how precious life can be.thanks for your time, and my thoughts and prayers go out to every family that has ever lost a loved one or a friend.
