to some memorial day and labor day is just another day out of school or work, but when i think about memorial day & labor day, i think about all the soldiers that have died for a cause. these holidays are here for a reason and that is to send our sympathy to everyone person that has died in a war, a terrorist attack, or has become prisoners of war and were pronounced dead after never returning home. when the soldiers of world wars 1 and 2 died i wasn’t even a thought in the minds of my parents, but i could’ve felt sorrow. when 9/11 happen, i was in the middle of class, and the most tragic thing imaginable and possible occurred. i thought that was the spark to start world war 3. it was the shock of the world, to see america sad and full of sorrow.
as i have learned in history, america has never lost a war or, there hasn’t been any type of major terrorism to happen to the united states. to this day i can’t stop thinking about how this event happen, what happen, when it happen and the 3,000 some odd lives lost in the destruction of one of america’s symbol, the world trade center, or the twin towers. when people watch older movies that were made before 9/11 they can see what was once standing there in its luster. no other country could feel the sorrow that each and every american citizen felt as we witnessed 4 planes cause some much destruction in such little time. in due time our hearts will heal and our pain will fade away but the memories, and sorrow we have for everyone that died in the past will live on forever.
