the day the world stopped turning

i was in school. it was the beginning of second period. i was standing in one of the locker rooms, because i had buildings and grounds 2nd period. one of my friends came and told me we were under attack. then, we both went right outside the locker room and heard a cheerleader and some other people saying "they bombed the wtc", and the cheerleader said, they just bombed the pentagon about 5 or 10 minutes ago. then, me and my friend took the elevator upstairs, and i could hear the tvs in every classroom, all i knew at that point was "we're under attack." i went outside, looked up, and all around, just paranoid about airplanes dropping bombs. my heart was beating a mile a minute. i can remember just looking in the classrooms and seeing everyone glued to the tv. but i still just stood right there in shock, listening from outside one of the classrooms. my friend was in one of the closets, getting a vaccum, or something. i rushed over and told him, "they're coming this way!" when we got back downstairs, i told my custodian they had bombed the capitol building, or the pentagon, or something. (i was a little confused) i can remember my right leg just trembling and shaking. i don't know why i even ate lunch that day. then, 3rd period, i watched president bush speak. the rest of the day, i just felt mostly angry, and somewhat saddened, depressed, and in disbelief. what kind of dick-face terrorist would want to do such a horrible, horrible, thing to our country? however, there were a lot of heroes, including todd beamer, and the heroic passengers on flight 93. fdny, nypd, all law enforcement officials, rescue workers, and now, our troops over there in afghanistan, fighting this war, and keeping us a free country...god bless our nation.
