on 09/11/01 i was just starting a new job. i had moved from my home in iowa to work for a family in houston. when i first saw what was happening all i could think was that could have been me. you see not so long ago i was working for a family in new jersey just across the hudson from nyc. she was a vp for a bank in tower one. the ironic thing was that usually during the week i would visit the trade centers. it became somewhat habbit for me. i know it sounds really selfish to think thank god i wasn't there but i also thank god that the mother of the children i take care happened to be home that day as well. as for the first person i called it was my mother i live so far away from my family i needed to make contact with them that day!!! and all i could say was mom turn on the tv and i'll call you back. that entire day and for many days after words i was just lost it's like a hase i couldn't beleave what had happened and that so many of my friends and neighbors were gone. all because of some man who didn't like the way we run things. up until now my life really didn't have a purpose it was like i'm just here. but now i'm choosing to choin our great armed forses and make my differense. for all those who perrished that day and all those in pain still and also for myself.
