my name is rachel, i live in jacksonville, florida, and i'm a 13-y/o 7th grader. when i first heard of this attack, i was in my 2nd period pre-algebra class. at first i thought it was just a rumor but when i went to my language arts class, the teacher got on cnn.com and she read everything to us b/c we weren't allowed to watch the news. she told us what happened and i started to cry. i just wanted to do something, but all i could do was pray and put it in god's hands. in my band class, we donated teddy bears to all the children who lost loved ones in new york. even though i live in florida, i felt their pain. i'm sure i cannot imagine how hard this was on everyone, on america. i just wanna also pray for those who lost loved ones in the pentagon and in pennsylvania. i'm just kinda glad i dont live in ny b/c my dad is a cop and i would never want anything to happen to him. it's just sad that it took a tragedy to bring america back to god. i always thought america's motto was "in god we trust." we can't just put it on our money, we actually need to beleive it and back it up. it' kinda sad when it takes teenagers,such as myself,to have to tell adults to trust in god, if kids followed in most adults paths, we would all end up in hell. its the truth, we all need to go back to our roots. we need to know that jesus died on calvary to save us. bt no one seems to care, thats why im grateful that i was raised in church and im saved. i pray for all those who lost family members in the terriost attacks and those who have lost family members in the military, i have 2 cousins who are in the navy and i just pray that god will watch over them and protect them. i have began to write poems about patriotism and 91101. i just try and i ask god that i can keep this spirit of america in my heart. thank you for reading my story and i hope you can wake up and get back to god!!!
