i was in school when 9-11 happened. our school, raymond high, along wiht other school's across the country stopped everything and watched what was going on. there were students piling into rooms form the hals.. teachers from other classroooms that didnt have tv's. being only a freshmen and watchign history being made, that is a big thing. we go out of school and watched the replays for hours at home. the tragedy of losig that many people and being so helpless. i have felt like a child many of times when i have done soemthign irresponsible or something to that sort; but to sit there and think of thosew firefighters and police officers dying so save everyone else, and to thiink abotu the families and how little i could do, i felt this anger and helplessness all around, i wasnt old enough to donate blood, and i couldn't really do anythign in my community because not many people were affected by it that close to home. i did all i could, which for me was to get online and get all the information of the families that was available. i bought 360 sympathy hallmark cards and sent them to buildings in new york and families that i could get information from and to the schools that were right around the corner from there. i think the u.s handled the whole situation in general well. i dont know what i ould do if i had been in that situation.
