my son kevin colbert worked at #2 wtc 89th floor for keefe, bruyette & woods. i say he is the most wonderful son in the world, but he was also my best friend and roomate.. you see after a failed marriage and two small children later i was left homeless and without any support what so ever from the childrens father. their father seemed to drop off the face of the earth anything not to have to pay child support. i worked hard to take care of these children but one salary just wasn't enough. my son kevin had already started his career working in the city and had his own apartment. at the age of 22 he took me in with 2 small children and chose to contribute to their support. right up until that tragic day he died. he help to feed , clothe and put a roof over his 2 small brothers. he stepped in as father and coached little league and football he never missed a game. he paid for extras such as school trips, school supplies and sporting goods that just sometimes wasn't in the budget. he taught these boys to be competative and that there was nothing they couldn't do if they tried hard enough. kevin was the most wonderful person in the world he will be sadly missed by friends, coworkers, teamates and family but most of all by these 2 young boys that looked up to him as not only a brother but a father and best friend as well.
