where i was

i'm 13 years old and when this happened, i was sitting in my 8th grade foods class. one of the teachers from another classroom came in and whispered something to my teacher. i thought nothing of it because thats what they always do. then my teacher told us. she said that a plane had slammed into the wtc. at the time i didn't know what it was. i had always heard and referred to them as the twin towers. after we shifted to our next classes, everyone was talking about it. in my next class my teacher turned on the tv for a few minutes but then returned to class. i remember that their we're so many parents who came to pick up their children throughout the day. once i got home, my older sister and my mom were both home and they were watching the news. i watched with them and then i went in another room to watch mtv. it was on every channel. i couldn't help but watch and cry. this day will live vividly and clearly in my life forever. when my kids are learning about it in us history, i'll be able to tell them this story. god bless you and yours.
