living only two hours from oklahoma city, i can remember the day of april 19, 1995 very well. september 11, 2001 will live in my memory just as intensely. i was driving my children to school, and suddenly, at 7:59, kbez dj cindy bear announced some news about a "plane hitting the world trade center towers". given the time i quickly switched to krmg news radio and they had a live feed from abc news. the anchor there was talking to a man and his wife who had a perfect view from their nyc apartment, and while he was describing the first crash, they started screaming "oh my god" and he then said that a second plane had hit tower 2 and that there was a massive explosion.

my kids were clearly concerned about what was going on, but i dropped them at school and hoped the teachers there could explain it better. i drove straight to work, where we promptly turned on the tv, and watched for what seemed like an eternity. i called my mother and she had seen everything that was going on, and was clearly upset. then the towers fell....i called her again and she was in tears. i remember her saying that never in her 61 years had she ever seen anything like this.

we are winning right now, we just have to get the head of the serpent. america must continue to stand tall and defend what is right.
