i was at college when i heard about the planes and the wtc. it was 10:35 and ironically enough, i was in u.s. history 1985-present, when a classmate came in in a rush and told us limited info about it. our (highly opinionated) professor came in class, and for the first time all semester, i was anxious to hear him speak. when he told us the facts, i remember thinking "the world is coming to an end." and "oh my god, i am so scared!" my heart sank to my feet and all of a sudden i wanted to leave school. i prayed while he was talking, and again and again. i eventually asked permission to stand in front of the class and pray. when he said okay, i did. he did not want me to and was half reluctant, but i don't think he could have stopped me. the class was somber and quiet. after class ended, i drove to work. never had i been so grateful to hear the news in all my life! work was dragging and there was talk about closing early, but nothing came of it. on the drive home, again, news the entire ride.
i did not go to bed until 3 a.m. because i was watching dan rather.

i have never been more proud to be an american!
i have never been more proud to bush as president!
i have never been more proud to have jesus as lord of my life and god in control of the universe!

i don't think i truly realized how powerful and far-reaching god is. now i know!
