i was in school, going about my normal day when the principal came on the announcements (via tvs) and told everybody in the school that we should go about our day and to not have on the tv or radio or web or anything else. i had not known that anything was going on, and i started to wonder. i finally got word from peers of mine that the wtcs were hit. i thought it was all bs, but the principal came on and told us that this really happened and that we should keep all the victims and the victims' families in our hearts and prayers (yes. the principal was talking about prayer in public school). i was mostly shocked that this would happen to america. i dont have any family or people i know that work in the wtc or nyc. it was just really weird. there were rumors going around that there was a list out that had like nyc, wash d.c., san fran or some place in cali, and milwaukee was like 5th on the list. a lot of stuff was going around. everybody was talking about it for the next week, we could barely get any of our work done. in the begining, it was mostly shock that had hit all of the kids, then it turned into fear for most people, and anger, hate, and some feelings that were of such a deep anger that they are undescribable in words, but most people know that feeling. for a lot of people, mostly the "geeks" and "nerds" like me (sorta) felt frustrated that we couldn't directly be doing anything to help the people there. we held a donation that went on for a week and in our small public school, we raised nearly $1000 in that week. people were giving their birthday money, some upwards of $20 a day, to help however they could. the teachers had this thing among the teachers for a t-shirt that you could buy for $20 or something that would go entirely for the nyfd fund. even today, i still see that shirt worn a lot by the staff. i really dont know what else to say. it hit home for everybody. people were comparing it to pearl harbor, but it is a world different. hawaii is out in the middle of nowhere, and the world could go on easily if hawaii were completely destroyed off the face of the earth. but new york is so much closer, and is one of the biggest and most important cities in the world! just thinking about it is giving me the shakes.
to anyone that was in the crash or to anyone in new york or to anyone who has family that were in the wtc or to anyone that was on the plane or to anyone in the pentagon or to anyone that had family on the plane or just anyone that is living through this eternal hell that was created from 9-11 especially the little kids in afghanistan-their life was hell before and it got worse now that we started bombing-my prayers are with you while i go through my day, while i sleep at night, while i type away at my computer, while i daydream through social studies class, every second that i am alive, my prayers are with all of you. from the firefighters to the emts to the police to the mail workers to the innocent afghanis such as the children and the women and the men and the northern alliance.
yes, i know that i am writing this almost three months after the attack, but it is still a big impact on our lives. the stock market still hasnt' gotten back to what it was before, i have to put up with having little or no money to work with during my week cuz my pop is jobless, and there are hundreds of other people applying for the same jobs he is at the same time in the same place. well, maybe not hundreds, but dozens upon dozens. all from that (censored for the children. yes i have a bad mouth for a 14 yr. old)osama bin laden. i am sure that everybody has the (censored)feelings about osama, but calling him names isnt going to do anything. and neither is bombing innocent people. we got the (censored) right where we want him and i'm sure that (censored) is tired of running. i bet that he was laughing his ass off when the wtc towers fell, but gee, do you think he's laughing now? i hope he's laughing. i hope he's laughing his guts up. i hope that we dont have to deal with that (censored){censored}[censored]in our lives anymore. i hope that i haven't offended anyone with my "censored"s or anything that i said in my recollection. i know that not everyone feels the same way that i do. but, hey, we have to go on with our lives
