i went to school like any other normal day of high school. the 12th was my birthday so i figured the whole week would run by just smoothly as could be. i was walking to 2nd block around ( 8:55 ) when i was stopped by a friend kristen. she was just saying," oh my god! i can't believe this is happening!" i asked her what the heck she was talking about and she said haven't u heard? a plane ran into the world trade center. so during 2nd we weren't aloud to watch the news requested by some of my classmates who were very disturbed by the events. in the middle of 2nd block my english teacher said, it seems that another plane has crashed into the second tower and the pentagon has also been hit. but world trade center didn't quite click in my mind as twin towers. i was thinking okay some place next to the pentagon a plane accidently crashed in between them until i got out of class. as i was walking out of 2nd block i was stopped by a friend who said..well...the tower just collapsed. i replied, " what tower?!" and he said , " you know the twin tower" and then it hit me. the twin towers, a massive structure, was just piled on the ground. however, i still dont think i realized the extent of the damage. i didn't realize how many people had lost their lives and it hurts me more now to see the footage of the planes crashing then the day it happened. it brings tears to my eyes that any human being can be that hateful. why?! why those people?! they didn't do anything! my heart goes out to all those who lost somebody they knew. fortunetely for myself, i knew nobody that was killed. america learned a lot from that day and i dont think september 11th will ever be forgotten.
