on the morning of september 11, 2001, i was sleeping in until i got a phone call from my friend. he said "get up! turn on the tv! the world trade center was just bombed." so, i got up, turned on the tv and watched what appeared to be a movie. my friend was still on the phone when i picked it up and said "oh my god. what just happened?" he said "i don't know. but, happy birthday by the way." that's right, september 11th was my 20th birthday. definitely a birthday that i won't ever forget.
