i was in school in 6th grade. all of a sudden our principal came on the intercom and said that there had been some plane crashes in new york. i don't think anyone thought too much about it because planes crash sometimes. when my mom picked me up from school that day, she asked me if i knew what happened, and i said that our principal told us there were some plane crashes in new york. my mom told me what happened and i knew it was a big deal but i don't think it meant very much to me at the time. then later when i found out more about it, i felt so sorry for all of those people who lost their lives on september 11. now i feel more connected with my whole family and all of my friends. i think 9-11 has brought our nation together more and we have all learned to appreciate the smaller things in life and everyone around us more. america is still standing and will always be.
