i remember september 11, 2001 clearly like it happened yesterday. i was in the 7th grade and in 2nd period social studies. we had a subsitute teacher and she told us that the middle eastern countries would attack this country in the next few years. those few words made my heart skip a beat. none of us new what happened that morning just yet. soon after that class was over and me and my friends walked out the door. i am in gifted classes and it was required that year for seventh grade gifted students to take science and social studies in quest (the gifted program). our social studies classroom was on a sixth grade hall so we had to walk to the seventh grade section to get to our literature clas.. i remember clearly when i walked into our section people were running down the hall screaming "america is being attacked!". i really didn't believe it and told them so. they told me to go into a classroom to look at the television because by that time all of the teachers were watching the news. i was heartstrucken. i went to the lit class with my friends and put my stuff on my desk. we noticed that ms. davis wasn't there so i went to my homeroom teachers room which was one the opposite side of the hall about 50 feet down. i stood there in horror looking at the television screen that was focusing on what used to be both twin towers but now was only one. i also saw that the south tower was smoking and saw part of it come down perfectly falling directly downwards. it did not tip or sway but it was like the steel bars were bending out so the building was falling straight. i went closer to the screen and what i saw scared me even more. people were jumping out of the windows. i didn't cry or tremble; just stood there in shock. after awhile classes started and i had to go ahead to lit. we continued the class like a regular day but we all knew it wasn't normal. it was a day that would would remember forever where we were and what time of day. what we felt and what we saw and what we thought. september eleventh two thousand and one. i day that will stay with us forever
