on september 11th, i can still remember i has just gotten out of 3rd period language arts class when my friend kyle came up to me and said "the us is being under attack" i didn't really think much about it because he tells alot of jokes. when i got to 4th period social studies class mr. r. had the tv on and was looking up at it. as people came in mr. r. was saying "instead of doing anything today we are going to watch tv" as he explained everything that happened, i remember having my eyes glued to the television for the next 50 minutes. i also seen the towers fall. i can remember staring up at the tv and feeling like something inside of me was full of tears, fear and horror.
when i got home a threw my thing on the chairs and sat down and watched another 20-30 minutes of the tv. i can remember my dad saying something about how all american's hearts should go out to the families of that day. i still believe that, and i also think that god brought us to this day and he will bring us safely out of it.
when my mom came home from work she said that our couins kelly was a flight entendent for one of the planes that hit the towers, also that my other two cousin's live in manhatten. we later found out that kelly got transford that week off that plane to another plane going to another place. but there was still no word on the other two couin's. the next day my grandma calls us and tells us that silvio (the one that works in the tower) had stopped for coffee at a near by resturant and was running just 25 minutes late for work that day. brandi was safe too because she was at home.
my heart was filled with joy yet pain for my cousin's and the others that weren't as lucky as me. god bless you and all americans!!!...forever!
i am proud to say today, that i am proud to be an american!
also...if anyone is looking for a hero...someone that gave their life so that others may live i would strongly suggest that tod beemer be yours! he is and will always be mine...no athlete could ever compair to the heroic things todd did that day!
god bless the usa!
