hard to believe a year has passed

a year ago today i skipped my morning classes to do laundry before having to go to work. my morning stopped short when i heard that a plane had hit the first wtc building. i turned on the news and like many others i was wanting more information about what was happening...then the second plane came into the screen and i at first thought it was a replay of the first crash, then i was confused...how was the building on fire if this was a replay of how it happened? that is when the second explosion happened and all at once i knew this was no accident. i was frozen in front of the tv. i continued to watch the rest of the morning as the events unfolded, and the buildings collapsed one at a time. i couldn't believe that just a little over a year before i was on top at the observation deck at the wtc. my first trip to ny. i had a day to myself and i walked from soho to the towers, determined to see the view from "the top of the world" it was an amazing day and my photo sits on my bookshelf to this day. once a memory of an adventure, now a memory of once was, a reminder of how our lives have changed forever. rest in peace, and may we all find a peace, tolerance and love within.
