i was sitting in class on september 11th, 2001. i had come back from lunch and my english teacher said to the class that he had found out that a plan had hit the twin towers. i hardly even knew what the towers were. i mean i had obviously seen them before, but i didn't realize how serious it was. when i got home from school my parents were both home (something that never usually happened) and they were watching the news and i saw what had happened and i was just in shock that something like that could ever happen. the following day at school, almost half the students weren't present, due to this terrible event. that day something threatened to bomb the school, so we were all out of school by 9:00am, the day after that there was an anthrax scare and we were out before first period started. this was a terrible event, and i just wanted to let everyone know that even in rhode island, it still effected us.
