i wasn't there and yet i was affected

i was in my school on that tragic day, september 11,2001. it was just like any other day until i got on the bus. a close friend of mine was talking about a terrorits attack in new york.i thought he was joking but to my surprize he wasn't. i got home and quickly turned on the news.the first thing i saw was a plane hittin the north tower of the world trade center. i was home alone and feeling scared so i called my boyfriend. he told me that he was scared to and we tried to comfort eachother. we talked for hours about what could have caused this and why this happened.neither one of us could figure it out. when my mother got home she told me that our cousin was there and my be injured badly. we tried calling but we got no responce. a week later we were called about our cousin.he was fine. he was in a coma due to a piece of debris that had come down upon him. i was never so scared in my life. i think what really helped me get through all of this was my boyfriend,and my family.they were there to help me, and during the school day my boyfriend was there by my side.i will never forget that day or any of the innocent lives that were taken on that day, and neither will anyother american. god bless the u.s.a.
