my father passed away on september 8, 2001. on september 11, 2001, as were sitting in church for the funeral services, our local fire siren sounded. as i recall it was shortly after 10 am. i, along with other family members, thought nothing of it at the time. we had not yet even heard of the attacks in new york, washington and pennsylvania. as we finished the funeral service at the local cemetary, i could hear people talking about planes flying into the wtc. still grieving over the loss of my father, i really wasn't even paying much attention to what they were saying. when my wife, children and i got in our vehicle, to attend a post funeral dinner, we heard the terrible news on the radio. i remember thinking after hearing of the devistation, what i went through today was pretty much insignificant compared to what people in new york, washington and all over the usa were going through. all eyes were glued to the television at the post funeral dinner. no disrespect to our father, whom we all loved very much, we were all in disbelief at what had occurred. we live approx 40 miles from where the last aircraft crashed in the field in somerset county, pa. this explained the local fire siren sounding durng church services. had we have known what had happened that terrible day, we most certainley would have added an extra prayer in church for all those perished that terrible day. i for more than one reason, will never forget september 11, 2001........ we love you dad
