i am in the u.s. military. i was at the end of a six month deployment when we got the word of this tragedy.i was asleep,it had to have been two-tree in the morning when i was woken to the captain's voice.he said that two planes had crashed into the world trade center.we were already in the gulf so we turned right back around and took station off the coast of pakastan.being that i am on a submarine i can not tell all details.i am from new york and it hurt me deeply to hear what happen.we were without contact with family for over a month.we didn't see pictures or news reports for at least three weeks.but when the president gave word we were the very first to attack.i am very proud to serve my country in the name of our defense.we were a part of history and my children will read about this in school as they are growing up.to all who might read this especially those from nyc and washington,a terrible act happened and my submarine responded in your name.we are proud to be of service!
