i am a sophomore at southern connecticut state university in new haven, ct...i was killing time between psychology and biology. i was just checking my e-mail to see if i had anything from who was then my g/f. she had sent me an e-mail saying that 2 planes have hit the wtc and both towers had collasped and the pentagon was also hit. my initial reaction was that she was making this up. but, then i thought, why in the world would she make up a story like this. i tried going to cnn.com and foxnews.com, and couldn't get through either one. i knew something was up. the internet was running really slow. i was fooling around with various websites and typed in www.news.com, and then, the horrific, everlasting pictures showed up. i could just not believe what i was seeing. i was shock, stunned, and saddened by all this. i didn't kow what to do. my bio class started at 12:25, but we were told, that due to what happened, governor rowland was shutting down the state. school got out at noon anyhow. it took me almost 45 mins to leave the parking garage. all the radio stations were broadcasting the news. when i got home, i immediatly ran to the tv and just watched, awestrucken, at this day of infamy. it is still a clear picture of the planes striking the towers, and seeing these twin giants just plummet to the ground as if they were nothing. the big shock didn't hit me till a few days later.
i dont' think i'm still over it. i still think about that horrible day. i visited ground zero on nov 17, and it was scary to think these buildings used to stand there. i took pics and i'd be glad to send them to people who are interested in seeing them. i've also written a poem about sept11. just a horrible day which will never, and can never, be forgotten. god bless america!!!!
