i sat quietly at my desk in spanish class. my friend ashley leaned over to me and said "did you hear? were under attack" at first, i didn't want to believe her. i thought of my brothers. gabe, steve, andrew, ryan. i wanted to cry. i still don't know why i thought of them. i let my emotions take over. i wanted to drive my ranger off a cliff. i felt so bad about the victims but then i realized, we didn't loose thousands, or loose hope... we only gained thousands of angels, and came together. for the past month, i saw no segregation towards others. we are finally reunited. we are strong enough as a nation to look back on september 11. my grandfather, joseph, fought for the us of a in 3 wars, ww2, korean and vietnam. and in memory of him, the fdny, and all the people that died, i fly the flag, proudly, you are in my thoughts, and prayers. god bless america. we stand united.
