i remember the morning it happened. i was a junior in high school. i had just gotten out of the shower when my dad yelled at me to see what had happened. i couldn't believe my eyes. i just stared in amazement. i had to hurry to get to school because as usual i was running late. i got to school and went to class. i remember they had the news over the intercom all day long. none of my teachers doing anything. some students with family in new york were in chambles wondering if their family was anyone stuck in the dust. some classes got cable so other classes piled in to watch the news. i remember going over to my boyfriends house after school to watch more news just crying with pain of my beloved country going down in flames. only a month before 9/11 i had flown into jfk airport comeing back from spain with my family. only knowing that if only a month later i could have been in one of those planes. my heart just sinks thinking about it. remembering looking up at the towers when i was in nyc with my high school marching to preform in the macy*s day parade, only a year before. i just remember watching the news in school not believing what i was seeing. some people in my school thought it was all made up untill they finally realized that something like that doesn't go on the news for more then just a week. every day in my government class my teacher would have the tv on mute for anything new. i just remember looking at them, flying over them, and shopping in the mall underneith. my heart goes out to everyone who had loved ones who parished in the catastrophe and most of all the people who died, in the flights, the firefighters, and the employees of the twin towers. god bless america!!
