i'm a truck driver and on that life altering morning, i was heading out of the city on the throng neck bridge. when all of a sudden the traffic came to a stop and i was asking what was going on ( on the cb radio ). i tried calling my wife and was unable to get a line. shortly after the traffic started to move, slowly. i finally got out of the city and was able to get a line to call my wife. she was asleep and i told her what happened and she didn't believe me, but she turned on cnn news and she was scared now. i finally got to were i needed to be and started watching the news and started to get scared myself. for the next 6 nights my company sent me into queens, on the 6th night i was fight mad trying to get them to sent me home to be with my wife and 5 children, who were also scared. on the 6th night i got a massage that i was heading south. what they didn't tell me i was heading within blocks of the pentagon and the right back to jfk airport. then i got sent to atlanta and then they finally sent me home to be with my wife and children. still to this day it sticks in my head what happened that day and who lost their lives. for 7 1/2 i was in fire/ems as a vol. i remember the ones who died in the wtc and pa and dc. i also remember the ones who gave their live to help in the " face of fate ". may god be with their families and friend. god bless america/god bless our troops and god bless president bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
