the day that'll go down in infamy...a day ill never forget...i was sitting in my 10th grade english class and i remember my teacher who was the calmest, coolest guy stepped out in the hall to talk to someone...he comes back with an expression i had never seen in him before...he told us of a tragic "accident" that had occurred, a plane had flew into one of the wtc towers...we all couldnt believe it because how often does that happen? then about 10 or 15 minutes later someone else comes with more news...a second plane hits the other tower, this is when the sickened feeling hit my stomach--what the hell is going on?!?--well the rest of the day in school was downhill from there...since i live close to the city many people had parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, friends, etc in the city working.......including me, i was escorted to the library where frightened people were calling family members...that was another nightmare in itself, crying people all around me, scared, not knowing what to do...my mom told me todd wasnt working today, what a relief that was..what i didnt realize was that many others werent as lucky as i had been...a few of my friends i spoke to there said their mom/dad was working and they were sure theyd be ok......just one nightmare after the other, my friend catie had lost her father, and also my friend nick lost his...its incredible how theyve lived on with their life now and are past the grief...in my eyes they are my idols and i look up to them.....everyone should always remember the day and the ones lost in the attack and always pray for them
