our trip to the us

my husband and i were on holiday in the usa, we had only been there 4 days and we were due to fly out of la the morning of sept 11 to my brother in laws place in knoxville iowa. what a scary time....we were told the airports we going to be closed for the next ten days, and with that there went our travel plans for the next 3 weeks. we ended up driving all the way from california to iowa just to get to our family, to get a sense of saftey...of sorts. the worst thing was were we literally stuck for 2 weeks, and not knowing what everyone back home was seeing, whether they knew that we were going to be ok to get home to australia, and if the family living in th us were going to be alright in the months to come. watching those images on the tv over and over still brings tears to my eyes, feeling for every single person that is affected by this atrosity in every different way possible. i am now being treated for post traumatic stress disorder which i have been told has been brought on by the events i have been exposed to first hand when i was in the us on the most famous date in history. i know my experience my seem quite insignificant comparing to those who lost loved ones or who were physically, emotionally and mentally scarred by what has happened but i feel it has touched alot of us, big and small in so many ways possible. i hope the persons who brought this tragedy on the world are brought to justice, not just for nyc, not just for the usa, but for the world as one. to quote george w bush, "we will prevail". i hope this happens for all of us.
