where i was when the world stopped turning...

i was at work in dallas, tx. i arrived to the office safely as did many others around the world, when all of a sudden i heard people talking about a building being hit by an airplane in nyc. like most who would first hear that, i thought it was an accident. about 10 minutes into our checking out news affiliated webistes, it immediately said that a second airplane had a hit another tower of the world trade center in nyc and it was then that we all took a deep breath and realized this could be no accident. i immediately called my home where my life partner was, he was off that day, to ask him if he had heard about planes flying into buildings in nyc. he said that he had not. i advised him to turn the television on and he did and he said that he was seeing live footage in nyc and that buildings are on fire. i continued to watch the websites, as we had no television at work, and pictures were updated almost immediately as they were taken, it was incredible coverage of the story by the online news agencies. i could go one and on, but i am sure that many of my emotions and feelings were shared by many, many american's and doubt, disbelief and eventually dispair overcame me. i continued to watch the news coverage into the evening from home with my partner. it was a terrible day and many tears were shed as we watched our freedoms being challenged by a group of millitants that should not have been in our country in the first place. that's my story, everyone has one and they are all heartfelt i am sure. this day america was touched by terrorism as we have never experienced it, today we continue to grieve and move forward as one nation under god, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
