 on my way to work.

i was in my car when the breaking news came that the one of the twin towers had been hit by a jet liner. by the time i had arrived at work everyone was watching the tv's in my department (i am a electronics manager at a local retail establishment).
i had a co-worker who was from new york city and she was standing in front of the tv's just shaking her head. i had walked up and was watching another replay of the towers on fire and then the news went live and at about that time my co-worker said what is that plane doing there! before my own eyes the second tower was hit on live television. never in my life have i ever experienced such a tragedy. of course we had to return to work and do our jobs. occassionally glancing at the televisions and all of the horror that was on them.
this was a day that i will never forget, totally numb and waiting on customers, i will never forget where i was and what i was doing for the rest of my life. just like my mother said when jfk was shot.
my prayers and thoughts will always be with those poor souls who lost their lives and the families and friends who lost them forever.
