i had already started 3rd period, when we heard a commotion going on the hall. it turns out our next door teacher wanted us to tune into cnn. we did as he sayed and were shocked to see what we were watching.
i remember in particular, this kid came in late and saw the news and started laughing saying "what kind of idiot would crash into a building". the same thoughts ran through my mind. i had no idea that this kind of thing could happen in our country. i had not the slightest clue what was going on. the second plane crashed right in front of us.
the kid i had previously mentioned sayed "wow now this is something *messed* up". my teacher just started crying so hard. she started panicking and couldnt believe like most of us why would someone do this. we did not have classes at all. in every class we were glued on to the tv. then we heard that there was some kind of explosion heard near the white house.
"what is going on?" to be honest with you i was like many of us scared. i seriously though the world was coming to an end.
the bell rang. i preceeded on to my next class which was a study hall. we were all glued on to the tv. we found out that now the pentagon, which was the explosion we heard about earlier had a plane crashed into it. i though it was maybe mechanical failure. i was so very scared. right there in my seat i started asking god to please protect us from any danger.
then we heard about the plane crash in pennsylvania. i was just in shock. everyone was shocked too. our old principal as told by our teacher is now principal a mile away from where the crash site is. i was hoping somebody needs to be alive. i prayed for god for a miracle. whenever we were going through the hall into our next period everything seemed so silent.
i was hoping my boyfriend who at the time worked right next to the philadelphia airport, would come home early and safe. there's not a day that goes by that day comes into mind. i am more grateful now for everyone in my family. i have them with me. september 11, 2001 will definately bring back memories
of my senior year in high school. how a beautiful sunny day turned into chaos and sadness to everyone in the united states.
