what happened

i was sitting in the living room watching good morning america, and waiting for a business call. my life had taken a drastic change of course this past summer - and for the past months, i had been doing a lot of soul searching and trying to find solutions to my problems. i had a large window in my living room that faced the east. so i was sitting there, facing the window (it was sunny out) - and i had what seemed to be a vision. i began to think about an airplane flying into my window - and wondering how i would escape. a few minutes later, the first plane hit the world trade center. i didn't understand why i would be thinking about an airplane flying into my window. i had never been on an airplane, and i didn't have any trips coming up. my mind should have been on whether i was going to get a job offer or not (the business call). my niece (who was several months pregnant) and her husband live in new york city - and my niece always caught the bus directly in front of the world trade center every day. in fact, she was there one hour before the first plane hit. i thank god for protecting them. the september 9 tragedy was horrible. i was in the process of looking for work, so i was at home watching the the events unfold around the clock. this made me so depressed and emotional. after several days, i decided not to watch any more of it. instead, i began reaching out to people - trying to do my part in helping to brighten up a dark time in all of our lives.
