alone at school

on september 11,2001 i was at school in my science class. i have a pager that i get news updates on. it had been going off since around 10 and i never thought to check it. it went off one last time before i checked it. it had told the tragic news of the wtc towers and the pentagon. i was so afraid. my mother sent me a text message saying not to be scared to trust in god and everthing will be okay and for me to call her at lunch. all day in school my teachers wanted to watch and see what was going on. i got home that day and all that was on was the news. i really didn't want to watch it but i forced myself to because i wanted to know what was going on, so if anything else happened i would be aware of the situation. i prayed that night for the nyc fire crews( because i am a fireman myself) i also prayed for the people in the planes and the nyc police men who risk their lives day after day to try and make this a safer country. but that night i couldn't sleep because all i thought about was what happened. i will never forget that day being at school all alone with no one to talk to about my feelings. may september 11th, 2001 never be forgotten. may god bless everyone!
