September 11, terror at school

on september 11, 2001, i was at my high school having a not-so easy day. i was having all my core classes: math, english, history, science. we had split up into groups and were in different rooms. everyone was just sitting there listening to the teacher when an annoucement came over the intraschool speaker system asking all teachers to put the tv's in their rooms on cnn. our teacher put on the tv and we were all shocked to see what was going on. right before our innocent eyes, the world trade centers collapsed. the headline running across the bottom of the screen read "america under attack" none of us knew what was happening, but we were all equally afraid. the rest of the day we watched that tv- waiting and listening for updates on what was going on in our freedom filled country. that day was an eye opener for teachers and students alike. the terror and fear that filled that day will live in each and every american heart for as long as they live.
